The Free Lady story
Making an offer

Free Lady isn’t just a comfortable home-from-home, she’s a serious sailing yacht who loves nothing more than gliding along in 20 knots of wind under full sail. Designed for short-handed crews, Free Lady is easily managed by two people. The hydraulic steering system takes the pain out of helming, giving fingertip control however strong the wind. Even in big seas, the cockpit stays dry and the smooth, slam-free ride makes for a relaxing and comfortable passage.

Dry Cockpit even in heavy seasIf it gets cold or the rain comes down, just move downstairs to the indoor helming position and keep watch in comfort. Moving around down below is easy thanks to the abundance of handholds and the pilothouse design means landlubbers are much less likely to feel seasick. If the wind dies, switch the engine on and you’ve got the power and range to make sure you’re still back in time for your dinner reservation. You also have the comfort of knowing that there’s plenty of power in reserve to get you through the strongest of tidal currents. Click here for a magazine review.

Easy To Handle

Getting in and out of tight marina berths is easy, thanks to the powerful engine, large propellor and bow thruster. Camilla and I have managed everything the Mediterranean has to throw at us - from mooring buoys to groundlines to stern to anchoring - in complete confidence. But Free Lady's beautiful looks mean there's never a shortage of volunteers keen to catch your warps anyway!

40+ Mph Avon RIB

Crank the tender down from the davits, press the button and you’re away. Supremely easy to launch, she really makes anchoring worthwhile. She’s got a huge range if you want to take her off to explore the coastline, and with no propeller there’s no need to worry about beaching her - or accidental amputations when pushing off again. Once you’ve filled your scuba tanks from the onboard dive compressor, she’s the perfect way to get to that remote diving site. When you get back, she’ll carry you and all your guests ashore for dinner in style. She’s even powerful enough to tow Free Lady. Best of all, the 40+ mph top speed means you can have great fun overtaking jet-skiers!

Cockpit

Dine in comfort and style - even at sea!An outdoor dining table is essential for summer sailing. Enjoy breakfast outdoors while the early morning sun glints off the water. Stop in a secluded anchorage to admire the view over a picnic lunch. Slide the full length bimini over to avoid the mid-day sun. Watch the sun set over dinner, before turning the floor level lights on to enjoy a gin and tonic in the balmy evening air. Easy to put up and stow away, the folding table turns the cockpit into an outdoor room you will love to use.
